Haha… All the worst ones I’ve had did this, too, though. The best game masters have everyone participate in creating a cool story together, the worst allow their players to overindulge in whatever without steering them back to sanity so that they can collaborate. Both involve helping the players make cool things even cooler, they just have different end goals in mind.
I meant the concern for the player, as opposed to the resulting indulgence. You do make an excellent point though. I’ve had a game master who actually messed up their own supervillain because they were convinced that it would be cooler for them to jump the shark pit weighed down with gear instead of using their jet pack…
That just means you are one of the good game masters.
